Mohawk welcomes new Canadians

Summary

50 new Canadians take oath of citizenship

Mohawk was proud to welcome 50 new Canadians, including 21 families, who took the oath of citizenship in the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018. Mohawk was the first college in Ontario and just the second in all of Canada to become a partner of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship. The college is proud to host ceremonies like this every year in partnership with the Institute and Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

This ceremony was a little more special than most for Mohawk with Mohawk Paralegal Professor Rochelle Ivri presiding over the ceremony. Judge Ivri is one of 10 Canadians that were recently appointed citizenship judges by the Governor in Council on the recommendation of Canada's Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Ahmed Hussen.
