Proponents of the $12-million complex say the program will bring a much-needed boost to athletics in Brantford. "Currently, our young athletes usually have to travel out of town if they want to receive any specialized athletic training," Brad Ward, chair of the steering committee for the complex told the Expositor. "Once this complex is completed that will no longer be the case. They can receive the training right here in Brantford thanks to Mohawk College."


The training will be provided by Mohawk students enrolled in the college's two-year health, wellness and fitness diploma program. Training will be supervised by College staff. Launched in September 2009, the health, wellness and fitness program has more than 200 students.
