Mohawk ranked as the top large college in key categories. In the teaching and learning category, Mohawk earned the highest scores from students on 16 of 19 questions. Mohawk also scored highest among large colleges in the general perception and satisfaction category.

Eighty-six per cent of Mohawk CE students surveyed said they would recommend their course to a friend with the same interests.

During the Winter of 2012, Compustat Consultants Inc. conducted the provincial survey of 24 Ontario colleges and tallied results for 46,614 Ontario CE students.

Congratulations to Miranda Titone, Gabriella Johnson, Heather Murray and Sara Osborne from Mohawk's Event Management - Convention and Meeting Planning, Course. Miranda, Gabriella, Heather and Sara won first place for Best Table Design in the student division of the Canadian Special Events Readers Choice Awards at the Canadian Special Events Expo held in Toronto last week. The students are pictured with their winning table design below.

Students from Mohawk's Continuing Education Home Interiors Program got to test their design skills as part of this year's Junior League Holiday House Tour. Continuing Education faculty members Wendy Hodgkins, Mary Cath Altobelli and Lorraine Cronkwright helped with the decorating project, which included this home on Kitty Murray Lane in Ancaster. The theme for this house was "A South Asian Holiday".

Mohawk was acknowledged as the first brochure in the field to utilize QR codes. The article, with the title, “Mobiles: The New Frontier” cites visual examples of our catalogue designed pages where QR codes are used to direct readers to our Learning Exchange and Fennell Renewal websites.

LERN's previous issue congratulated Mohawk for the Continuing Education cover presentation and was awarded “Best Brochure Design”.
