Mohawk Broadcast Television student Amanda Jalowica is this year's recipient of the Michael Monty Award from the Ontario Association of Broadcasters.

Amanda, a third-year student in the program, received the prestigious award at yesterday's Career Development Day in Toronto. Michael Monty Award nominees are judged on their academic standing and demonstrated engagement. Each year, colleges and universities from across Ontario nominate students to the Michael Monty Award. Amanda is the fourth Mohawk student in five years to win. Other recipients include Michelle Quin, Harmony Eveleigh and Ida Adamowicz. Career Development Day is a great opportunity for post-secondary media students to meet with representatives from the radio and television industry.

Amanda was nominated by the faculty in the Broadcast Television program. She was chosen for high academic achievement and exceptional attitude towards her peers.
