A trumpet player and composer/arrange, Mike has been present in the Canadian Jazz music scene since the early 1970s, and has taught in Mohawk College's Music program since the 1980s. In addition to his work at Mohawk College, Mike is a clinician for Yamaha Music Canada and conducts improvisation workshops at York University in Toronto. He has also written for and performed with Nimmons ‘N’ 9 plus 6, The Ted Moses Quintet, Dave McMurdo Jazz Orchestra, Ranee Lee, Ted’s Warren Commission, The Alex Dean Quintet, The Brass Connection II, and The Kieran Overs Nonet.

Mike received the People's Choice Award at the Hamilton Music Industry Awards Show held at Mohawk's McIntyre Theatre Saturday night. The Hamilton Music Industry Awards recognize the achievements of those behind the scenes in the Hamilton music industry. Every year the Industry Awards bring together record labels, managers, radio station personnel, producers, engineers, booking agents, talent buyers and venue managers.
