Mohawk College showcases collaborative research at Motech 2012

Forty-nine new Canadians were sworn in at a special ceremony held in the McIntyre Theatre at Mohawk College today. Mohawk hosts two citizenship ceremonies a year and was the first college in the province to become a chapter of the Institute of Canadian Citizenship. The Institute is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to engaging Canadians about citizenship. It was founded and is co-chaired by the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson (a former Governor General of Canada) and John Ralston Saul.

Mohawk College’s iDeaWORKS will be presenting some of the exciting collisions of mobility and technology that are being developed right now in Mohawk research labs at the college's first ever Motech Expo this Thursday.

The Expo is an opportunity to learn about the great opportunities students have to collaborate with faculty research pros and local industry entrepreneurs.

Capping off the event will be a keynote address by Polar Mobile CEO, Kunal Gupta who, in just a few short years, has built a student business into one whose work now sits in the pockets of millions of mobile app users. Immediately following the keynote, which starts at 4 p.m., there will be a Mobile Technology Panel Discussion moderated by Matt Hartley, editor of the Financial Post Tech Desk.
