<p><strong>Volunteer Opportunities: </strong>Volunteer opportunities are available for students, staff and retirees during Spring Convocation ceremonies at the Fennell Campus June 13-16. Volunteers are needed to assist graduating students and families before the ceremonies and during receptions. <p><strong>Awards of Excellence and President's Awards 2011:</strong> <a href="http://www.mohawkcollege.ca/Events_8407/presidents-award-2011.html" target="_blank" title="Click here to submit an nomination online.">Nominations are now being accepted</a> to recognize exceptional colleagues who make Mohawk an even better place to learn and work. All individuals and teams who've gone above and beyond in advancing one or more of Mohawk's Strategic Priority Actions of quality, innovation and sustainability can be nominated. Individuals can be recognized for everything from an exceptional contribution during their first year at Mohawk to a lifetime of exemplary service.</p><br />
<p><strong><em>*New for 2011</em>: </strong>Twelve Awards of Excellence will be presented. The 12 award recipients will then be the finalists for the annual President's Award. Award recipients will also be considered as Mohawk nominees for future Colleges Ontario and Association of Canadian Community Colleges award competitions.</p><br />

Keith, a 54-year married father of two grown children, went to Mohawk through the Ontario government's Second Career Program. John Milloy, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities and the Hon. Sophia Aggelonitis, Minister of Revenue. The Ministers were announcing the&#160;third installment of the Ontario government's $60 million&#160;<a href="http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/document/nr/10.09/bg0924.html" target="_blank" title="More on the College Equipment and Renewal Fund">College Equipment and Renewal Fund</a>. The announcement took place in Mohawk's Studio One, with 3rd year <a href="http://www.mohawkcollege.ca/calendar/TVCommMedia.html" target="_blank" title="More about Mohawk's Broadcasting TV program">Broadcasting -- Television and Communications Media</a> students recording and editing the event. Mohawk has invested $400,000 in College Equipment and Renewal funds on state-of-the-art high definition editing equipment in two television studios and&#160;a mobile truck used at community and sporting events. Mohawk has received $3 million over the past three years to purchase equipment and technology and further enhance the quality of education for students.</p>]]></description><category><![CDATA[Second Career,Uncategorized]]></category>
