More than you think- they are all topics that Mohawk faculty and staff will be studying over the next ten months.<br />
<br />
The Applied Research and Innovation in Education (ARIE) Fund supports faculty and staff research and innovation activities at Mohawk College. Funding will support projects that focus on applied research, teaching and learning, and entrepreneurship.<br />
<br />
The wide range of projects selected reflect Mohawk’s commitment to continuous innovation in technology and health, to excelling in applied research and to transforming lives through access to education.<br />

The event raised more than $44,000 for campus improvements at Mohawk College's STARRT Campus in Stoney Creek.<br />

Named in honour of the late Gerald Marshall, the Gerald Marshall Centre provides students in the College's<a title="Find out more here." href="http://www.mohawkcollege.ca/calendar/apprenticeships/truckCoachTechni.html" target="_blank"> truck and trailer</a> programs with hands-on training in a state-of-the-art truck garage that accommodates up to three full-size tractor trailers. The Marshall family donated $1.2 million to the Centre, as a tribute to Gerald, founder and owner of G. Marshall Transport Ltd. Mohawk’s Carpentry Apprenticeship Program has awarded its annual Best in Class Student Awards to three students from its Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Levels.<br />

Nick Borgdorff, Basic Level, Jeremy Anderson, Intermediate Level and Jonathan Hamilton, Advanced Level, each received a gift certificate valued at $100 from Lee Valley Tools. The students were judged on their grades, attendance, adherence to safety standards and their overall attitude in the program.<br />

The Gerald Marshall Centre for Transportation opened in February 2010 at Mohawk's skilled trades campus in Stoney Creek.  Approximately 400 apprentices train at the centre annually for careers as heavy truck and coach technicians.  The late Gerald Marshall founded G. Marshall Transport with a single truck in 1970 and over the next 24 years, grew the company to include 24 trucks and trailers. <span style="text-decoration:underline;">STARRT Campus</span>- <strong>Tuesday, October 16<sup>th</sup>, 2012 between 8:00am-11:00am</strong> outside the Student Engagement Office.<br />
