The research is being done by&nbsp;<span>Ross Finnie, a professor in the graduate school of public and international affairs at the</span>&nbsp;<a href="http://www.macleans.ca/schools/university-of-ottawa">University of Ottawa</a>. Finnie's work includes data from Mohawk where predictive models are being used to identify students who may need extra help in their studies. Mohawk's Vice President Student Services,&nbsp;Wayne Poirier, is quoted in the article.</p>

Dr. George Kuh is one of the world’s leading scholars on student success. He regularly presents on topics related to institutional improvement, college student engagement, assessment strategies, and campus cultures, and is the founding Director of the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), and the author of Student Success in College.<br />

Dr. Kuh will be at Mohawk College as part of a two-day advising symposium for college staff on Monday, May 13th and Tuesday, May 14th. The keynote, which takes place at 7 p.m. in the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre at the Fennell Campus on the Monday, is to open to the public.
