11th Annual Steeltown Friends of Mohawk Music Concert Nov. 6

Tickets are now onsale for the 11th annual Steeltown Friends of Mohawk Music Concert on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 8 p.m. in the McIntyre Theatre. Tickets are $25 and $15 for students and can be ordered online or by calling 905.575.2740.  This year's concert, presented by the Mohawk Music Club and Steeltown Friends of Mohawk Music, features classical piano duo Marcel and Elizabeth Bergmann, jazz vocalist Heather Bambrick, the Mohawk College Jazz Choir and the Mohawk College Faculty Ensemble. The annual concerts raise money for scholarships, instruments and master classes for students in Mohawk's Applied Music program. To support students in financial need, the Steeltown Friends have established three endowments totalling $127,000 and awarded a full scholarship in 2010-2011 to Victor Vrankulj, a bass player from the acclaimed Hamilton All-Star Jazz Band program.
