Apps for Health 2014 set for April 25 at Mohawk College

Apps for Health 2014 logoAppsForHealth is quickly becoming Ontario’s premier information-sharing, networking and recruiting event for the mHealth and eHealth industries. This interactive, one-day event provides a valuable opportunity for professionals from healthcare, technology and education to come together to discuss current and emerging trends in health and education technology.

The growing fields of mHealth (use of mobile devices for health purposes) and eHealth (healthcare practice supported by electronic processes and communication) are creating new opportunities for healthcare service innovation and career growth. AppsForHealth is an opportunity for professionals to network, share, and learn together. The event is also a showcase for new technologies and forum to discuss pertinent health care challenges that would benefit from technological solutions.

This year's keynote speaker is Dr. Brian Goldman, host of CBC's White Coat, Black Art, a behind-the-scenes look at medical officers. Dr. Goldman is one of Canada’s most trusted voices in medicine. He makes complex medical issues digestible for audiences on radio, television and on the speaking circuit. He personalizes medicine and the human frailties of his profession. He is not afraid to address tough or controversial issues head on in a comprehensive way. Also unafraid to use his own medical mistakes for examples on how doctors can improve.
