Apps for Health 2018

Summary

Two Days of Digital Health Innovation at Mohawk

Last week, Mohawk’s mHealth and eHealth Development and Innovation Centre (MEDIC) hosted the annual Apps for Health and FHIR North conferences here at Mohawk College. With over 500 attendees, this 2-day digital health event brought together professionals from healthcare, technology, and education to discuss current and emerging trends in health, technology, medical education, and entrepreneurship.

Keynote speakers at Apps for Health included Dr Lisa Patton, Director of Watson Health Policy Research at IBM, and Atif Chaugtai, Chief Technologist at Red Hat Canada. The first day ended with a panel of healthcare innovators from our region, and a talk about promising practices in mobile patient care from the Ontario Telemedicine Network and Novari Health.

Mohawk’s MEDIC is the only Technology Access Centre in Canada with a focus on digital health and interoperability. The Apps for Health & FHIR North events showcase the innovative practices and forward thinking work of MEDIC and its partners. Learn more about MEDIC and IDEAWORKS at mohawkcollege.ca/ideaworks
