Community invited to join students and faculty at March 7 master class and concert with Robben Ford

robben fordUPDATED: Mohawk College welcomes electric guitar great Robben Ford to Hamilton on March 7. The community is invited to join a master class that Robben is running for students in Mohawk's Music program from 10 a.m. to noon at the Fennell Campus on March 6. Robben will also perform with students and faculty later March 7 in the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre. The concert, presented by the Mohawk College Foundation and building on the tradition of fundraising shows by the Steeltown Friends of Mohawk Music, will raise money for Mohawk's Music program.

Robben is one of the premier electric guitarists today, acclaimed for his blues playing as well as his ability to be comfortable in a variety of musical contexts. A five-time Grammy nominee, he has played with artists as diverse as Joni Mitchell, Jimmy Witherspoon, Miles Davis, George Harrison, Phil Lesh, Bonnie Raitt, Claus Ogerman, Michael McDonald, Bob Dylan, John Mayall, Greg Allman, John Scofield and many others.
