Congratulations to Mohawk's medal winning apprentices and students

Congratulations to the following Mohawk apprentices and students who went head-to-head with the best in the province at the 2010 Ontario Technological Skills Competition. Medals were given to students who finished 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Two Mohawk apprentices -- Colin Shaver and Stuart Balan -- finished first overall in their categories. More than 1,800 students put their skills to the test at the competition.



  • Auto Collision Repair: Colin Shaver (1st place)
  • Auto Service Technology: Chris Conney (6th place)
  • Cabinetmaking: Spencer Cowal (2nd place) and Keith Holloway (4th place)
  • Carpentry: Andrew Ducker (5th place)
  • Electrical Wiring: Trent Zawaly (2nd place) and Allan Vertlieb (4th place)
  • Heating Systems Technician: Adam Bonfoco (8th place)
  • Industrial Wiring: Stuart Balan (1st place), Paul Gregario (2nd place)
  • IT and Network Support: Chris Walker (7th place)
  • IT Office Software Application: Lloyd Waddell (3rd place)
  • Plumbing: Warren Weaver (5th place)
  • Precision Machining: Dustin Germuska (3rd place)
  • Refrigeration: Matt Pinter (6th place)
  • Sheet Metal Work: Trevor Stirtzinger (4th place), Mitchell Shepherd (7th place)
  • Truck and Coach Mechanic: Jeff Poljanski (3rd place)
