Dress to Impress event March 4 at Mohawk College to support Food4Kids

Looking to make your mark during your next job interview and in the workplace without breaking the bank? Students, recent grads and the community are invited to a Dress to Impress fundraising event in Mohawk's McIntyre Theatre at the Fennell Campus March 4 at 7 p.m.. Tickets are $20 and $10 for students.

The event is hosted by Linda Edmonds, a certified image consultant with LE Style and organized by second year students in Mohawk's Financial Services program in the McKeil School of Business. As part of their coursework, the students are raising money for Food4Kids. For more information on the March 4 Dress to Impress fundraiser, contact student Victoria Robertson at victoriarobertson5@gmail.com.

Food4Kids provides packages of healthy food for kids aged 5 – 14 years in Hamilton, Halton and Niagara who have limited or no access to food each weekend. Packages of healthy food are prepared by volunteers and delivered to schools each Friday to ensure children have nourishment over the weekend. Each food package contains kid friendly, non-perishable and easy to prepare meals with maximum nutrient value.

Linda Edmonds has over 25 years of experience as a hair, make-up, and wardrobe stylist. As an image consultant Linda offers her clients a wide array of services that start with redesigning hair and make up to advising on how to redefine personal style. Her passion lies in helping men and women, stay-at-home parents to business professionals, present their best look.

Students in the second year of Mohawk's Financial Services program apply what they've learned in class to support a local community organization. In previous years, the students have organized donation drives for Canadian Blood Services and raised money for the Rotary Club of Hamilton AM.
