Four Mohawk College Advertising students & a grad win big at National Advertising Awards

A Mohawk College Advertising student is bound for France on an all-expense paid trip after winning gold at last night's National Advertising Awards.

Student Jarrett McGibney and his partner Patrick Weir won gold in the Out of Home professional category and will attend the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in June. Jarrett won for his work while interning at Fuse Marketing.

Mohawk students also won gold and silver in the student category. Gold medal winner Nolan Kennelly has been offered an internship at BBDO. Students Joanna Kuczynska and Dan Chaulk won silver

Curtis Denomme, who graduated from Mohawk's Advertising program last year, won gold in the Digital category. Curtis and his partner Aisling Pence, who currently work at Agency59, will also be going to Cannes.

"It was an epic night full of surprises," Mohawk Advertising professor Jef Petrossi said about the National Advertising Awards. "People in the industry keep talking about our program's upward momentum."
