FedDev funded network supports advanced manufacturing in Southern Ontario
In celebration of FedDev Ontario’s 9th anniversary, we’re talking about the Southern Ontario Network for Advanced Manufacturing (SONAMI).
What is SONAMI?
Mohawk’s Additive Manufacturing Innovation Centre, alongside Niagara College, McMaster University and Sheridan College, make up the network of postsecondary institutions which have a mandate to support economic growth in southern Ontario in the field of advanced manufacturing.
The network has been granted funding from FedDev Ontario to support its creation and operations. From prototype development to production planning and production automation, SONAMI partners have capabilities in the following specializations:
- Additive Manufacturing
- Flexible Manufacturing
- High Productivity Manufacturing
- Industrial Internet of Things
Why SONAMI?
To grow the quality and quantity of applied research projects and to support the Golden Horseshoe advanced manufacturing cluster with state-of-the-market facilities and equipment. The Additive Manufacturing Innovation Centre continues to welcome industry partners to participate in SONAMI-funded projects.
