Researchers develop a model to forecast dropout rates, better support students

The Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario has this article on a report co-authored by Mohawk Vice President Student and Alumni Services Dr. Wayne Poirier and Dean of Students Tim Fricker. The paper titled Using Predictive Modelling to Inform Early Alert and Intrusive Advising Interventions and Improve Retention reports of the findings of a study that was done at Mohawk in cooperation with the Education Policy Research Initiative to develop a way to identify students who were at rish of dropping out of college early. The study involved numerous college staff and focuses on supporting Mohawk students. The article and the report can be found on HEQCO's website.
