In the news: Athletes inducted into Mohawk Mountaineer Hall of Fame
The Hamilton Spectator has this story about tonight's Mohawk Mountaineer Hall of Fame induction ceremony tonight in the Fennell Gymnasium for
- The 1970-71 Mohawk Mountaineer's Men's Basketball Team, which finished the season undefeated against Canadian teams and won the Ontario College championship game by 45 points.
- Steve Case, who won back-to-back cross country running OCAA gold medals in 1985-86 and lead the men's team to the championship in 1986.
- Terry Macklin, a multi-sport athlete who played on Mohawk's championiship basketball and golf teams in 1967-68 and served on the college's Athletic Directorate.
- Barbara Moore, an administrative assistant who worked in Athletics and Student Life for more than 20 years. the Barb Moore Spirit Award is presented annually to honour her contributions.
- Sue Volcansek (Davies), leader of Mohawk's women's volleyball team for three years, two-time team MVP, OCAA league and championship tournament all-star from 1990-92 and a Mountaineer Outstanding Female Athlete of the year.
