The Hamilton Spectator has this story on Riya Karumanchi, a 14-year-old student from Burlington that has been interning at the Mobile and Electronic Health Development and Innovation Centre at Mohawk College this summer. Riya has developed an award-winning smart cane for the blind and visually impaired and has been working to perfect the device at Mohawk.
