In the news: McKeil provides money, mentorship to Mohawk

The Hamilton Spectator has this story about McKeil Marine's partnership with Mohawk College. The Hamilton-based marine shipping company has donated $750,000 to the renewal of Mohawk's Fennell Campus. The donation is the single largest ever made by the company. Chairman and CEO Blair McKeil and his wife Kathy last month hosted a special event that inspired family and friends to donate $250,000 for student scholarships and bursaries, the most ever raised for Mohawk at a single event. Blair also serves as Mohawk's first ever entrepreneur-in-residence while Kathy is organizing an entrepreneurship speaker series. The contributions from the McKeil family, company and their friends will be recognized this Thursday afternoon will the official naming of the McKeil School of Business. The naming ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. in the iWing Rotunda at the Fennell Campus. Blair, Kathy and Mohawk President Rob MacIsaac are scheduled to be guests on CHML 900 Bill Kelly's Show at 11 a.m. this Wednesday.
