More than 600 nursing student delegates from across Canada will attend the 40th annual conference which starts on Wednesday, Jan 26  and runs to Saturday, Jan. 29. The conference is an opportunity for the students to take part in professional development workshops and network with peers, presenters and potential employers.

Key topics covered at this year's conference include nursing leadership development, new graduate transition, politics and health care, interprofessionalism and the many diverse fields in nursing. The four-day conference also includes an all-star line-up of guest speakers including Tilda Shalof, best selling author of the A Nurse's Story, Vanessa Burkoski, Ontario's Chief Nursing Officer, Dr. Jean Watson, of Watson Caring Science Institute, and Cathy Crowe, a Toronto areas nurse who is well-known for work with the city's homeless.

Mohawk’s Level 4 student Matthew Smith is the conference chair for 2011. For more information check out the Conference website at: http://www.aeic.ca/english/conferences/national
