Mohawk students at the Fennell Campus, Mohawk STARRT Institute and the Mohawk-McMaster Institute for Applied Health Sciences voted by more than a three to one margin in support of a discount bus pass. Beginning in September, students will pay $121.80 for an eight-month HSR bus pass. A monthly HSR pass currently costs $87 while an annual general parking pass at Mohawk costs $510. The discounted bus pass follows the introduction of preferred parking for carpoolers and more on-campus bicycling parking to start the 2009-10 school year at Mohawk. The Mohawk Students' Association held the bus pass referendum Jan. 22 - 25.
