Louisa Drost appointed Mohawk College Dean of Students
Mohawk College is pleased to announce the appointment of Louisa Drost to the role of Dean of Students.
Louisa made the transition to Dean from her previous role as Director, Student Wellness. As Dean, Louisa is responsible for leading programs aimed at improving the overall student experience and enhancing student success, in addition to retaining many of the responsibilities from her previous role.
“Mohawk is committed to providing students with a high-quality education and experience. I look forward to working with Louisa to make sure the student experience is the best it can be, from the moment they choose to attend Mohawk,” Cebert Adamson, Vice President, Students, International & Alumni.
Since joining Mohawk College in 2012, Louisa’s commitment to promoting mental health and wellness have had an enormous impact on students and colleagues at the college, and in the broader community. In 2018, Louisa was appointed to the Colleges and Institutes Canada national advisory committee, which oversaw the development of a pan-Canadian mental health standard for postsecondary students. She was also the driving force behind programs aimed at increasing awareness and education around sexualized violence and provided valuable insight and leadership to college’s COVID-19 pandemic response.
Louisa started in her new role on March 1.
