Making of 'Gangnam Project' in Hamilton was personal for Sarah Haasz - In the news

Mohawk College transformed into Korean school for new show

Gangnam Project

"Gangnam Project" - primarily filmed at Mohawk College - is about a 16-year-old Korean-Canadian girl who travels to Korea to help a rising K-Pop star learn English and crack the international market. Along the way, her own singing turns get heard and she is on the path to becoming a K-Pop star.

The 10-episode show, which drops on CBC Gem on March 8, grew out of the time when producer Sarah Haasz, a Korean-Canadian and former Hamiltonian, returned to her native land when she was a teenager. The college played an important role in her family's transition to Canada.
