Media release: Mohawk College Association of Continuing Education Students donates $250,000 to Fennell Campus Renewal Project

MOHAWK COLLEGE ASSOCIATION OF CONTINUING EDUCATION STUDENTS SUPPORTS FENNELL CAMPUS RENEWAL PROJECT


HAMILTON (April 18, 2012) – The Mohawk College Association of Continuing Education Students (MCACES) is donating $250,000 to the Fennell Campus renewal project.


The donation raises the total amount contributed by MCACES in support of college renovations and construction projects to $750,000.


Mohawk will recognize the Association’s support with the dedication of the MCACES Learning Link at the Fennell Campus at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18.  The MCACES Learning Link, located between iWing and the Mohawk Learning Exchange, is one of the new common areas created for students as part of the ongoing Fennell Campus renewal project.

  • MCACES represents approximately 42,000 continuing education registrants at Mohawk.

  • MCACES offers scholarships and bursaries for CE student, as well as academic advising, advocacy and course and college information, an evening Walk Smart service and employment workshops and seminars.

  • Since launching in the Summer of 2009, more than $30 million has been invested in the largest campus renewal project at Mohawk College.
