Media release: Mohawk College students report record level of satisfaction

HAMILTON (April 18, 2012) – Overall student satisfaction has hit a record high at Mohawk College.

In the annual Key Performance Indicator (KPI) survey results released today by the Ontario Government, four out of five Mohawk students (82 per cent) report being satisfied or very satisfied with the college. The overall student satisfaction score is Mohawk’s highest since the KPI survey began in 1999. 

For the second year in a row, Mohawk's overall student satisfaction score is the highest among all colleges in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.  The score is also the highest among Ontario's eight largest colleges and third highest among all of Ontario's 24 colleges.

Mohawk’s 2011-12 KPI scores: 

  • Overall student satisfaction: 81.9 per cent (provincial average 76.8 per cent, 3rd highest among Ontario's 24 colleges)

  • Quality of programs: 83.3 per cent (provincial average 80.8 per cent)

  • Knowledge and skills for future career: 89.1 per cent (provincial average 87.4 per cent)

  • Quality of facilities and resources: 78.4 per cent (provincial average 70.1 per cent, 2nd highest among Ontario's 24 colleges)

  • Quality of services: 76.9 per cent (provincial average 68.8 per cent, 2nd highest among Ontario's 24 colleges)

  • Employer satisfaction rate: 92.6 per cent (provincial average 92.8 per cent)

  • Graduate employment rate: 82.7 per cent (provincial average 83 per cent)

  • Graduate satisfaction rate: 78.2 per cent (provincial average 78.9 per cent)
