Media release: Tiger-Cats supporting entrance scholarships for Mohawk rookies

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are investing in a new scholarship fund for academic all-stars who are in their rookie season at Mohawk College.

For the remaining four home games, the Tiger-Cats are donating $15 from every special-priced $35 ticket sold to Mohawk staff, retirees, alumni and friends of the College. Proceeds will support a new fund established by Mohawk for entrance scholarships. The awards will be given to first-year students based on academic merit.

“The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have come up with a big play for Mohawk students," says College President Rob MacIsaac. "By investing in entrance scholarships for our students, the Tiger-Cats are investing in the future of our community."

The majority of Mohawk graduates continue to live and work in the Greater Hamilton region and cheer on their hometown Tiger-Cats.

The Tiger-Cats have also designated their Sept. 25th home game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders as Mohawk College Day. Mohawk Students' Association President Kat Cullen and Mohawk President Rob MacIsaac will take part in the coin toss before the game.

To order the $35 special-priced tickets, please contact Will Kay, Tiger-Cats Account Service Representative and Mohawk alumnus, at 905.547.2287 ext. 246 or email wkay@ticats.ca.
