Mission Services takes ownership of former Mohawk College campus

Wentworth campus

Mohawk's former Wentworth Campus is the future home for Mission Services' new education and wellness centre. Mission Services is taking ownership of the 45,000 square foot building in North Hamilton, which will offer cooking classes, abuse counselling, employment training and medical clinics among other programs. The Provincial Institute of Textiles opened at the Wentworth Campus in 1947, followed by Hamilton Institute of Technology in 1957. Mohawk closed the campus two years ago. The college is currently negotiating an agreement with Mission Services to lease a small amount of space at former campus and is exploring potential program options. Mission Services is planning $2.5 million worth of renovations to the building.
