Mohawk and the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson welcome 35 new Canadians and their families
The Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson joined Mohawk College in welcoming and congratulating Canada's newest citizens and their families Oct. 15. Madame Clarkson founded the Institute for Canadian Citizenship as her legacy project at the conclusion of her mandate as Canada's 26th Governor General in 2005.
Mohawk is proud to be the first college in Ontario to be a chapter of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship. Twice a year, Mohawk hosts Roundtable Discussions, an official Citizenship Swearing In Ceremony in the College's McIntyre Theatre and a Reception. Mohawk also supports new Canadians through innovative bridging and enhanced language training programs.
