Mohawk appoints new Chief Financial Officer

Angela Zehr has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer for Mohawk College and, in this role,  will also serve on the board of the Mohawk College Foundation.

Angela has served in the Acting, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role since April 2020. Prior to this, she was Acting CFO role for two separate appointments throughout 2018 and 2019, supporting the Finance division.

She joined Mohawk in 2011 as the Manager, Accounting Services, and was appointed as Controller in 2012. She brings more than 20 years of experience in all areas of financial management.

As the Logistics/Finance Chief for the college’s Incident Command Group, Angela has played a key role in the college’s COVID-19 pandemic response. She led the college through a $50 million budget redevelopment process and will continue to play an active and important role in the pandemic recovery. Angela is a key member on multiple committees that are responsible for guiding decisions related to the college’s financial and logistical requirements during the pandemic, while ensuring the safe return of students and staff to the college.

Angela is a Chartered Professional Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Honours, from McMaster University.

Angela assumed her new role as of January 16, 2021.
