Mohawk recently celebrated a partnership with Westmount Secondary and the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board. Westmount students in the Court Sports program play tennis, basketball, badminton and volleyball at Mohawk's Fennell Campus gym all morning once a week. Students in Mohawk's Recreation and Leisure Services program apply what they're learning in the classroom with Westmount students on the hardwood gym floor. Rosemary Knechtel, Mohawk's Vice President of Student Services, welcomed Westmount students and teachers and thanked them for giving Mohawk students a unique learning opportunity.
Mohawk graduate Rob Cooper (right) worked with Westmount students at the College and did a field placement at the high school, where he launched a lunch hour fitness program for Grade 9 girls. Rob says working with the students and staff was a great learning experience.
