Mohawk College and Columbia International College formalize longstanding partnership

Hamilton, ON – Mohawk College and Columbia International College (CIC) have taken a significant step in strengthening their partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that formalizes more than four decades of collaboration and solidifies the institutions’ shared commitment to international education and welcoming students from around the world to study in the Hamilton.

For more than 40 years, Mohawk College and CIC have worked together to provide inclusive, accessible pathways for international students, creating opportunities for academic success and cultural enrichment.

"Since forming our Educational Alliance in Hamilton in 1996, CIC and Mohawk College have worked together to create pathways for student success. This renewed agreement strengthens opportunities for our international students to excel at Mohawk College, equipping them with cutting-edge skills to thrive in the future” says Mr. Clement Chan, President, Columbia International College.

“When a learner chooses to study at Mohawk College and CIC, they are bravely choosing to leave their home countries to embrace new opportunities as they pursue their education,” says Mohawk College President, Paul Armstrong. “We know the more each student becomes engaged in our community, the more likely they are to continue to contribute to our community, with many making it their new home.”

The signing of the MOU in late November underscores the enduring value of this partnership and reaffirms the commitment of both institutions to delivering a welcoming, supportive environment for international learners.
