Mohawk College celebrating Rosemary Knechtel's contributions to postsecondary education

RosemaryKnechtel Rosemary Knechtel, Mohawk's Vice President of Student Services and a recipient of the 2007 Distinguished Service Award from Colleges Ontario, is retiring after 39 years with the College.

To recognize Rosemary's contributions to our students, college and the community, Mohawk is hosting a cocktail reception on Monday, Aug. 30 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. At Rosemary's request, the reception will be held in the Arnie student pub at Mohawk's Fennell Campus with a nominal cover charge of $25.

Mohawk has established a bursary in Rosemary's name to support students of unlimited potential yet limited means. A friend of the College has generously offered to match all donations up to $5,000. The Province will in turn match donations dollar for dollar through the Ontario Trust for Student Support Bursary Program.

Retirement teas are also planned at the Fennell Campus and Mohawk-McMaster Institute for Applied Health Sciences.

More information on the reception, bursary and teas is available here or by contacting Rosemary's executive assistant Susan Taylor at 905.575.1212 ext. 3747
