Mohawk College student one of only two Canadians competing in IBM's Master the Mainframe World Championships

Mohawk College Computer Systems Technology student Christopher McMaster is one of only two Canadians competing in the 2014 IBM Master the Mainframe World Championships. The IBM Master the Mainframe World Championship brings together the next generation of mainframe all-stars. Out of 20,000 IBM Master the Mainframe student contestants, 43 Master the Mainframe regional contest winners from six continents who demonstrated superior programming skills on the mainframe were selected by IBM to compete on the world stage. Beginning March 10, students will work remotely to sharpen their enterprise computing skills, learning about advanced development tools, and how the platform supports Cloud, Big Data & Analytics, Mobile and Security initiatives. Competitors will then build a business application on the mainframe annd travel to New York City to showcase their application to a panel of judges from across the IT industry in New York City on April 7. Winners will be announced at the IBM Mainframe50 Anniversary event on April 8.
