Mohawk College students donate $17,000 for Haiti relief efforts

The Mohawk Students' Association (MSA) is donating $17,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support relief efforts in Haiti. The Government of Canada will match the donation dollar for dollar, raising the total to $34,000.

In less than 48 hours, the MSA pulled together an all-day fundraiser on Wednesday where a percentage of sales from MSA retail and food operations were donated, along with 100% of the cover charge from the MSA's Wednesday Pub Night. The MSA also collected cash donations from students and staff. The MSA then donated an additional $10,000.
