Mohawk College's INDI 101 wins three Hamilton Music Industry Awards

Mohawk College's radio station INDI 101 took home three honours at Saturday night’s Hamilton Music Industry Awards held in the McIntyre Theatre.

Music Director of the Year  went to Sonja Maurin, second year student in the Journalism Program. Radio Show of the Year went to Lou Molinaro for his show “Lou’s Control” on INDI 101. Lou also won Media Person of the Year.

The Industry Awards recognize the achievements of those behind the scenes in the Hamilton music industry.  Every year the Industry Awards bring together record labels, managers, radio station personnel, producers, engineers, booking agents, talent buyers and venue managers. The Hamilton Music Industry Awards are part of the Hamilton Music Awards, which took place from November 18 - 21.

INDI 101 Station Manager, Les Palango, congratulates all the winners and nominees from INDI 101. The radio station was up for a total of six awards.

"Special recognition goes to INDI 101 Program Director Jamie Smith who pours his energy and dedication into making INDI 101 what it is – a top flight campus radio station representing Mohawk College with pride and creativity," said Les.
