Mohawk coordinator among top cartoonists at free public workshop this Sunday

Students, staff and their families are invited to a day of hands-on workshops and first-hand lectures with professional cartoonists this Sunday, Sept. 26th from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the iWing at Mohawk's Fennell Campus. The free event is ideal for anyone with career aspirations in commercial art, graphic design, videogame concept art development or animation.


Mohawk's own Leif Peng, an instructor and the coordinator of the college's Graphic Design Program, will be joined by 4 other fellow members of the National Cartoonists SocietyLeif has been drawing cartoon mascots for major international corporate clients for more than twenty years including the Nestlés Turtle (chocolates), the Quik Bunny and “Pud”, star of the tiny comic strips wrapped around those little pink bricks of DubbleBubble bubblegum. Other clients include MacLean’s magazine, Nintendo (SuperMario, Pokémon, DonkeyKong), and Oxford University Press.
