Mohawk This Week (May 10 - May 14)

Monday, May 10 - Wednesday, May 12: The Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium's national conference takes place in Hamilton. The conference for more than 500 delegates includes a tour stop at the Mohawk STARRT Institute and a keynote speech by Mohawk President Rob MacIsaac.


Tuesday, May 11: Free spring barbecue and buskers student event from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. outside F-Wing at the Fennell Campus.


Wednesday, May 12 and Friday, May 14: eLearn@Mohawk workshops for staff. An introduction to eLearn@Mohawk from 9:30 a.m. to noon and configuring a course in eLearn@Mohawk from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (both days). To register and for more eLearn@Mohawk workshops, go here.



Friday, May 14: Deadline for gold, silver, bronze and outstanding achievement student award nominations to be presented during Spring 2010 Convocation. For more, contact Emma Davies in Financial Aid.



SIMPLY THE BEST: Staff are now attending day 3 sessions with a focus on innovation and sustainability at Mohawk. Faculty are also attending their 3-day customized sessions with a focus on outcome-based content & curriculum, quality delivery & instruction, consistency & transparency in evaluations and learning plans, and managing student behaviors. NOMINATE NOW, CELEBRATE SEPT.1: Nominate an outstanding coworker or team for a Mohawk President's Award of Excellence or a Mohawk Innovation Award. Deadline for nominations is May 31. The awards will be presented during the annual President's Breakfast Sept. 1 at Liuna Station from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
