Artists concept of athletics and recreation centreMohawk College's new Athletics & Recreation Centre will be home to Volleyball Canada's newest Centre of Excellence starting this September.

The VCCE program is designed specifically to prepare high performance athletes who are serious about the sport of volleyball and who are looking to move on to next level. The program focuses on individual athlete skill development and is described by Volleyball Canada as the ideal complement to the high school and club system for athletes.

"We are excited that our new facility will open up opportunities to partner with organizations at the provincial and national levels," said Michelle Ball, Mohawk's Director, Student Engagement and Athletics. "This relationship gives Mohawk College a great chance to showcase our programs and facilities."

The program will be offered from September-‐December at the College's new Athletics and Recreation Centre, which opens this September.
