Spotlight on the Explore ESL Short Term Program
Mohawk’s Language and Culture Centre in partnership with the Centre Linguistique de Jonquière, will be hosting over 130 teenagers this summer, ages 14-18, from Spain, Italy, Vietnam, Russia, Mexico and Quebec. Students will take part of an English immersion and socio-cultural experience for the month of July. Many of the students take advantage of a Federally funded bursary through the Explore program.
Students get to take part in interactive workshops intended to facilitate career exploration and creative outlets, volunteer in the community, participate in outings exploring local culture, as well as tour Ontario hotspots like Niagara Falls, downtown Toronto and local waterfalls and beaches. The program also exposes learners to the possibility of studying in Ontario and Mohawk College, to complete their post secondary goals.
