Mohawk’s David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre wins People’s Choice Award

The people have spoken and Mohawk’s David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre is this year’s recipient of the 2015 People’s Choice Award, part of the City of Hamilton’s 2015 Urban Design and Architecture Awards.

The DBARC was one of the 35 sites in the running for the awards. Mohawk was nominated twice. First, for the DBARC and again for the Mohawk Students’ Association Plaza. More than 3,000 votes were cast during the online voting. The People’s Choice Awards recognize buildings and spaces that boost pride among residents and contribute to the economic and social well-being of the city.

The Award comes on the same week that the DBARC received LEED Gold Certification from the Canada Green Building Council.

The People’s Choice Award will be presented to Mohawk at upcoming City Council meeting. For more information on the awards visit: https://www.hamilton.ca/city-awards/urban-design-and-architecture-awards
