Mohawk’s Mike Rizzetto takes OCAA Golf Title

Mike Rizzetto of Mohawk College completed a wire-to-wire win at the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Golf Championships at Douro-Dummer near Peterborough Wednesday (Oct. 1).

Rizzetto, from Brantford, shot a two-over par 74 to finish one stroke ahead of Eric Pattenaude of Lambton College who completed 54 holes at the Wildfire Golf Club with a one-under par 71. Spencer Dunseith of Fanshawe College and Brennan Smith of St. Lawrence (Kingston) tied for third, three strokes behind Rizzetto. Cameron Garon of Mohawk carded a final round one-over par 73 and finished in a tie for 17th place.

Meanwhile, Mohawk won the OCAA Division II men's team title for the second year running. The Mohawk men's team members and their final round scores included:

  • Kevin Gee (98)

  • Steve Toth (83)


Humber won the men's team championship.

On the women's side, Adrienne D'Alessio of Humber led from start to finish. Her three over par 75 in the final round gave her the victory by 10 strokes over Niagara's Lorelle Weavers.

Mohawk's Danielle Wilkinson shot a final round 102 and Brooke Hoffner carded a 98.

St. Clair won the women's team crown. Mohawk wound up fourth.
