Mountaineer varsity highlights - Dec. 10
Mountaineers basketball and volleyball teams will receive a much deserved break after wrapping up their exhibition schedule this past week. It was a very successful week for the Mountaineers with the four teams coming away with a combined 3-1 record.
Of note, first-year setter Colin Prins stepped into the starting lineup and provided the men’s volleyball team with 30 assists and four digs. Stephanie Karatsolias, the first-year setter for women’s volleyball, also got the start and helped her team with 19 assists, two aces and four digs.
Off the court, two Mountaineers holiday drives continue until Dec. 17. The Holiday Toy Drive is collecting new and gently used toys for Eva Rothwell Centre. The women’s basketball team is running a Holiday Drive for Mission Services of Hamilton, collecting non-perishable food items, hygiene products (feminine hygiene, toothpaste, shampoo, etc) and new hats, mitts and scarves for the women’s shelter. Donations for both drives can be made to room R105 or the DBARC front desk.
