Mountaineer Varsity Highlights - October 15

This week Sabrina Cianciosi from women’s soccer and Amanjyot Singh from men’s soccer were named the Mountaineers Athletes of the Week. The weekly honour is awarded in collaboration with the Mohawk Students’ Association. Cianciosi scored her first career goal with Mohawk in four years at Tim Hortons Field. Singh scored a goal versus Sheridan, his second of the season, which ultimately led to a Mohawk comeback

Men’s Soccer (2-2-2 overall record):

Oct. 8: Draw 3-3 versus Sheridan Bruins @ Tim Hortons Field

  • Singh, Dominic McIntosh and Christian Kpobi scored for the Mountaineers.
  • Mohawk trailed 2-0 at halftime and 3-1 with 17 minutes left and scored twice in the final 11 minutes to tie the game.

Women’s Soccer (1-4-1 overall record):

Oct. 8: Lost 4-2 to Sheridan Bruins @ Tim Hortons Field

  • Cianciosi and Taylor Lee scored for Mohawk. It was Lee’s second goal of the season.

Women’s Softball

Oct. 13: Lost 15-0 and 13-3 to the Humber Hawks

  • Kacie Harrison had a 3 hit game and scored a run. Michaela Walker had a run scored and RBI with one hit.
