Mountaineers varsity highlights – November 22, 2024

Caldre Campbell

A slow week in Mohawk Athletics saw the Mountaineers win one of three games this past weekend.

Mohawk women’s volleyball had their seven-game win streak come to an end following a 3-0 loss to the No. 4 nationally ranked Humber Hawks.

The Mountaineers men’s volleyball also lost to the No. 4 nationally ranked Hawks, but not before putting up a fight. Humber came into the match having only lost one set all season, and Mohawk handed them their second loss with an opening set win. The Mountaineers ended up losing the next three sets, but none of them more than three points.

On the basketball court, the Mohawk men’s team continued their winning ways with a 99-82 victory over the Canadore Panthers.
