Mountaineers varsity highlights – November 30, 2023
Mohawk Mountaineers women’s basketball keeps on winning, surpassing their win total from a year ago following a victory this past week over the Sheridan Bruins.
The 72-36 win puts Mohawk’s record at 6-1 through the first half of the season with two games remaining before the end of 2023.
Mountaineers men’s basketball lost their second game of the season at the hands of the Bruins, 101-93. Mohawk’s 6-2 record still has them sitting second in the OCAA West division.
Mohawk women’s volleyball split their two matches, losing to the Niagara Knights and then bouncing back to beat the Conestoga Condors.
On the men’s side of volleyball, it was a winless week after two tough matches versus the Knights and Condors.
With the holidays approaching, the Mohawk Mountaineers have launched their annual Bernetta Scime Toy Drive.
This year all proceeds from the toy drive will be provided to the Boys and Girls Club Hamilton-Halton branch. Toys, along with Walmart and grocery store gift cards, will be accepted until December 14. Donations can be made to the DBARC front desk or R105.
