Mountaineers Athletes of the Week
Donna-Marie Borja – Women’s Basketball
It was pure hustle and grit from Borja in the Mohawk women's basketball home opener victory over the Fanshaw Falcons. The Mountaineers defeated the Falcons 74-73. Borja packed the box score with nine points, six rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block. She also shot 50 per cent from the field (four-of-eight). The success that doesn't appear on the box score was also a huge part of the fourth-year guards' success, as Borja chased after loose balls and played an efficient game for 36 minutes.
Harpreet Gill – Men’s Basketball
In the first game of the 2024-25 season, Gill had a double-double performance in Mohawk's 79-68 win over the Falcons. The fourth-year forward shot five-of-12 for 14 points and 12 rebounds. Eight of those rebounds came on the offensive glass, while he also provided three steals. Gill made some big buckets for the Mountaineers down the stretch as Mohawk pulled away for the victory.
