Summary

Top Honours for Mohawk's Journalism and Broadcast students

Students from Mohawk College's Journalism and Broadcast Television programs took first and second place at the 2016 Pinnacle College Media Awards.

Mohawk second-year Journalism and Broadcasting Television students won first place in the Best Television Newscast category, while first-year students took second place in the Best TV Special Event Coverage for their coverage of Mohawk's International Women's Day celebrations.

The shows were led by Journalism Coordinator Susan Prestedge, Television Professor Brian Willrich and Television Coordinator Tracey Kadish. The prestigious competition attracts entries from schools in Canada and the United States. Other schools in the competition included Penn State, UCLA and the University of Guelph-Humber.
