St. Catharines taking steps to prevent oak wilt with help from Mohawk College - In the news

St. Catharines is using staff and drones to keep a close eye on Burgoyne Woods while identifying other areas in the city with oak trees in an effort to prevent oak wilt from ravaging the canopy.

The city recently entered into a partnership with Mohawk College, which did drone aerial footage of Burgoyne Woods. That will provide a picture of what kind of canopy coverage loss the city will see if oak wilt were to hit the area.
